Tuesday Forum
All are very Welcome to a free weekly Forum at St Johns Hall, where we sit, talk, share, listen and learn. Tuesdays from 11am – 12.30pm.
Over the past two years ( when we met at Friday Forums) we have had about 70 gatherings, usually with Guest Speakers and had conversations about topics such as:
- Northbridge( John Hyde MLA)
- Prisoners and Fear ( Asst.Commissioner of Police Lienert ),
- Communication and Connecting ( B and B Dufty, Marriage Counsellors),
- Naturopathy ( Stuart Morick, Naturopath),
- Happy Teeth (Dentist Andrew Graebner),
- Viva La Musica ( Bernard Carney )
- Aborigines (Jim Morrison, Chair Stolen Generation).
We had 8 weeks discussing the recent best-seller of Hugh Mackay “What makes us Tick” ( the inner desires of all people), and later on a series of conversations about many of the 50 or so Countries represented at the Perth CHOGM Conference. Our sessions are always open, honest & lively.
All our Forums are conducted in a great spirit of listening and learning. We have very animated and all-inclusive discussions as we sit around in a circle of chairs . Over the past few years we have had an average of about 20 people attending. We meet every Tuesday, except in school holidays, and we always begin with free coffee, cake and drink available.
The long and winding Road
Tuesdays March 13, 20, 27 and Apr 3
11 am - 12.30pm
( 10.45am Refreshment and 11am sharp–Start )
The Long and Winding Road series continues up until the First Term School Holidays. We rarely have “religious” topics, but we are all interested in our inner selves and the spirit of life. Everybody is invited to be a “guest-speaker”, share their story, tell something of any personal or “ Damascus” experiences. Our Speakers are promising open-ness, honesty and insightful stories into their own long and winding road of life, faith and friendship !
Speakers have invited each of us to ask questions, to participate fully – as we have always tried to do: talk, share , listen and learn.
